Welcome to Point Cook College
On behalf of all the staff at our College, it is our pleasure to welcome you to our Point Cook P-9 College.
Our College is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all our students, staff and members of our community. We recognise the importance of the partnership between our College and parents and carers to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing. We believe that it takes the combined efforts of parents, carers, teachers and students to create a learning environment based on mutual trust and respect.
We are LEARNERS, we are RESPONSIBLE, we are RESPECTFUL and we are SAFE. Our College is an inclusive community where everyone is empowered to achieve their personal best. This vision is captured in our motto ‘Creating tomorrow today’. We work hard to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that inspires and challenges all members of the school community to embrace learning and achieve their academic, social, emotional and physical best.
Our teachers and staff are excited, enthusiastic and are highly professional educators, who bring a wealth of knowledge and commitment to their crucial task of guiding our students towards a fulfilling and productive journey at our College. Our student’s achievements in their learning will be a direct result of the dedicated, professional teachers and educational support staff who constantly provide diverse, rich, engaging and outstanding educational programs within an environment which is caring, friendly, inclusive and responsive to the needs of our students.
The curriculum and teaching strategies in each sub school encourage our students to have high expectations of themselves. The Victorian Curriculum forms a basis for teacher planning and curriculum implementation. A range of extra-curricular opportunities are offered to students, from music tuition, languages and sporting activities.
The wellbeing of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us. The high calibre Student Wellbeing team, provides support and guidance for our students, staff and families. The college has been designed as a community hub and encourages community use and additional community facilities and programs through a partnership with the YMCA.
Our state-of-the-art facility provides the very best in contemporary educational design and promote active student-centred learning through the creation of adaptable, functional spaces. Our buildings consist of General Learning and Teaching areas, a Learning Resource Centre/Library, full size indoor gymnasium/basketball court, performing arts/music room, spaces for food technology, design, arts, STEM/Technology centre and a community space managed by the YMCA. We also this year implemented our Year 7, 8 and 9 High Abilities Program and Year 7, 8 and 9 Athlete Development Program.
At our College, every door is always open to parents and carers wishing to discuss their child's progress or anything at all related to our College. We are all looking forward to working with you to support our students to achieve their best.
